Siri Application on iPhone 4S

The iPhone is a line of phones that was started by the Apple Inc. in 2007 and since then, it has been one of the most highly sold phones. And with each new model of the phone, people have been impressed and the latest one that was released in October of 2011 is one of the most amazing phones today and that is the iPhone 4S. The reason why this phone is being called one of the most amazing phones today is the amazing features of the phone. Be it the dual core processor, the amazing 8 megapixel camera or the iCloud fever, all these are amazing innovations. However the feature that has captivated the world and what makes the iPhone 4S the most different phone today is known as Siri.

Siri is a voice recognition control system that not only follows simple commands but also works as a personal assistant for the person who owns the phone. However one should not confuse this voice control with the ones in other phones. This one is much more comprehensive and is able to comprehend commands that on other hand many phones wouldn’t have been able to. When the phone is first purchased, the Siri needs to be activated by first activating that and then selecting your location which would make Siri aware of what language you speak and understand.

When Siri is enabled, there are a few ways of activating it as well. The two main ways are that one can either press the home button for more than two seconds after which the microphone icon will slide up and you will hear a beep that means that the Siri is waiting for your command or you can simply use the Siri by touching with your ear (this needs to be activated from the settings menu) and then again wait for the beep after which Siri will be ready to take commands from you. If one is using a Bluetooth device then he can simply hold down the button on that phone until he hears the beep and can then say the command to Siri.

Now we will discuss some of the basic commands that a person can give to Siri to operate his phone. Though Siri will respond to almost anything you say to it but if you want to use Siri to operate the phone, you need to use some specific commands. However there are no fixed commands and as long as you use some keywords, Siri will most of the time understand your commands. For example, if you want to read an unread message then you can either use the command ‘read my messages’ or the command ‘read my last unread message’. It will in either case read you your message. Hence by this way, one can use commands that are more natural to him rather than having to learn some commands.

Siri can be used to make calls, send text messages, set reminders and alarms, send out emails and do a lot of other things. It recognizes English, German and French and is undoubtedly an amazing innovation in cell phone technology.
